Any day on top of Barn Bluff is a good day. I rather enjoy sitting and taking in the view of the river or Red Wing's skyline. Love to see the church steeples rising up.
Absolutely beautiful scenery, two separate lookouts at the top of the hill. Lots of great different paths and hiking opportunities! One of the best places to view both Red Wing and the Mississippi River.
Beautiful view of city of Red Wing as well as of the Mississippi River. The North access trail is currently closed so we had to do a lot of backtracking in order to visit both the west and east overlooks. Our children liked the walk, but the 4 year-old did get tired from the extra walking. Be prepared to take some breaks if you have little ones, but the view is fantastic.
It is a good hike for a family with little kids but we took it slow and had a ton of fun
On this day, a pair of eagles came flying by from the Mississippi River, circled the area, and settled back in the trees of Colville Park.
